Gervonta 'Tank' Davis settles civil lawsuit over October 2025 battery allegations

Former three division boxing champion Gervonta "Tank" Davis has settled a civil lawsuit in Miami in which a woman accused him of battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping and intentional infliction of emotional distress, according to court records in Miami.

The woman's attorney, Richard Wolfe, told USA Today on Friday that settlement terms were confidential. Davis, 32, still faces criminal charges related to the alleged incident in October 2025, according to online records.

The woman, who was Davis' former girlfriend, said the incident took place at Tootsie's Cabaret, a strip club in Miami where she works as a VIP cocktail server. She accused Davis of attacking and holding her in a back room. A police report states Davis eventually released her in the parking lot.

Davis, 31, faces two felony charges of attempted kidnapping and false imprisonment and one misdemeanor battery charge. His next court date is scheduled for Nov. 17.

Davis was scheduled to box Jake Paul in November 2025 but withdrew because of legal issues. He has not fought since a March 2025 majority draw against Lamont Roach Jr. in which he retained the WBA lightweight championship. Davis was stripped of that title in June.

Davis has a history of legal trouble, including a 2023 hit-and-run case in Baltimore, in which he was sentenced to three years' probation and a 90-day house arrest.
