CLEVELAND -- James Harden passed Stephen Curry on the NBA's all-time playoff scoring list, moving into 10th place in the first quarter of the Cavaliers' Game 6 loss to the Detroit Pistons on Friday.
Harden hit a step-back 3-pointer from the right wing with 7:40 remaining in the first quarter, giving him 4,148 postseason points. Curry has scored 4,147 points.
Harden finished with 23 points on 6-for-13 shooting in the Cavaliers' 115-94 loss to the Pistons. The Eastern Conference semifinals series is tied at 3 with Game 7 set to be played in Detroit on Sunday.
On the same night Harden moved into the top 10 on the NBA's all-time playoff scoring list, he also turned the ball over eight times and passed Shaquille O'Neal (649) for third on the NBA's all-time playoff turnover leaderboard. It marked Harden's 31st career playoff game with more turnovers than made field goals, tied for fourth most in the NBA since the playoffs expanded to seven-game series in all rounds in 2003.
The No. 3 pick in the 2009 NBA draft, Harden is in his 17th season and first in Cleveland after a midseason trade sent Darius Garland to the LA Clippers. Harden has appeared in the playoffs in every season of his career and has played in 186 postseason games, which ranks 15th in NBA history.
