Washington loses WR Christian Moss for 2 to 3 months

Washington's injury toll on offense continues to climb as starting wide receiver Christian Moss will miss two to three months with a lower body injury, coach Jedd Fisch announced on Monday.

Moss, who had 45 receptions for 689 yards and two touchdowns for Kennesaw State last season, sustained the injury in Washington's season opener against Washington State. He did not record any statistics against WSU. Moss has 65 career receptions for 963 yards and four touchdowns at Kennesaw State and Virginia Tech.

The Huskies also might be without starting wide receiver Rashid Williams, who is week-to-week with an undisclosed injury, sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel. Williams sustained the injury Saturday against Utah State, and Fisch said his potential absence would not be substantial.

The wide receiver injuries follow those at running back, as Washington will be without starter Quaid Carr and backup Jayden Limar for two to three months, Fisch said Monday. Carr and Limar were both injured against Washington State.

Moss, Carr and Limar will be re-evaluated on Nov. 1.

Quarterback Demond Williams Jr. has been Washington's primary rusher, while Trey Cooley and Brian Bonner Jr. each had 22 yards in the Utah State win.

Starting cornerback Emmanuel Karnley is also week-to-week, Thamel reported, with an undisclosed injury.

Freshman defensive tackle Derek Colman-Brusa will be fine after having stitches in his finger from a play in the Utah State game.

Washington hosts Eastern Washington this week before opening Big Ten play at home against Minnesota on Sept. 26.
