Millwall and West Ham United will revive one of football's fiercest rivalries when they meet each other in the EFL Championship on Saturday at the Den. This will be their first meeting since February 2012.
The two London clubs have been going at it since 1899, and they've met 59 times since that first meeting, when Millwall beat West Ham 2-1 in the FA Cup. But they have played each other just seven times in the past three decades.
West Ham are leading the Championship on goal difference, but despite Millwall's indifferent recent form, they sit just four points adrift of the Hammers in 11th.

Can Millwall stop the West Ham goal machine?
Last weekend, West Ham produced a statement performance, whipping Wrexham 6-0. It was their fourth win in a row, a run of games in which they've scored 16 goals as they recovered from an early slump (1L, 2D) to top the Championship with the best goalscoring form in the division. Talisman Jarrod Bowen has four goals and three goals and is the fulcrum of an attacking set up that has built up quite the head of steam. Even in their midweek loss to Fulham in the Carabao Cup, they scored two and outshot Fulham 11 to 10.
After the loss, Hammers coach Nuno Espirito Santo said, "I cannot complain, we've been scoring goals. The offensive movements of the team are happening, I think they are clicking, it's flowing. But we've been punished by our mistakes, something that we have to look at. The way we conceded, there is improvement to be made. But again, as I said, we wanted to go as far as we can, but now we have to focus and there's no time for sorrow. We have to focus on Saturday, it's a big week, it's huge for us."
Millwall, meanwhile, have scored 13 goals but also conceded 13 in seven games, and have looked decidedly shaky in the opening stages. But form can often go out the window in a derby and, backed by what will surely be a vociferous home support at the Den, they'll be banking on Lyndon Dykes and co. to deliver against their great rivals.
Racked with injury doubts, Millwall coach Alex Neil was upbeat after last weekend's draw with Middlesborough, despite letting a 2-0 lead slip for a 2-2 result. "I can't fault the effort," Neil said. "We've done four back-to-back Tuesdays now in a row. We've got West Ham at the weekend, and we've got a lot of lads running on empty just now. I'm really pleased with the effort that they've put in."
What do the numbers say?
In their last meeting, in February 2012, the Hammers beat Millwall 2-1 in the Championship.
However, Millwall have not lost a league derby against West Ham at the Den since a 1-0 Dec. 1988. They've since gone five unbeaten (W3, D2)
Their current form, though, tilts the balance heavily in the away side's favour -- Millwall have won only one of their past five league games (D1, L3), while West Ham are on a four-game Championship winning streak.
If West Ham make it five wins on the trot, it'll be the first time they've done that since February 2006 under Alan Pardew.
Jarrod Bowen scored and assisted in the same league game for the 10th time since the start of 2023-24 last time out. In England's top four tiers only Mohamed Salah (15), Finn Azaz (13) and Davis Keillor-Dunn (11) have done so more often in that time.
