Manchester United transfer target Lewis Hall has signed a new contract at Newcastle, the club have confirmed.
Hall was United's primary target in the left-back position over the summer window and while no official bids were lodged, Newcastle were braced for more speculation in the winter.
But Hall has now signed a new deal with the club. Newcastle have only said the contract is for the "long term," but it is reportedly until 2031.
The 21-year-old England defender's previous deal ran until the end of 2029.
"I'm absolutely delighted," Hall said. "It's a really proud moment. It's an absolute pleasure to play for this club and to represent the supporters. I know how much it means to them.
"The fanbase and the support we get here, whether it's at St. James' Park or away, it's the best in the league in my opinion. To be able to bring joy to their faces, it's a big thing for me.
"I obviously have a family connection with the club, which is incredibly important to us all. One of the main reasons I play is to make my family proud, and I know how much it means to them to watch me playing for Newcastle United.

"It's a really good place to be. It's really pleasing with how we've started the season, especially with the new Gaffer and coaching staff coming in, and I think we can go on to achieve really big things."
Hall's new deal comes after a summer exodus at Newcastle, with Bruno Guimarães, Sandro Tonali and Anthony Gordon among the stars to have left.
Newcastle sporting director said earlier this week: "If you want to be a successful club in the Premier League, you have to trade players and if you don't the chances are you won't be a successful club in the Premier League."
