Fenerbahce v AS Roma
Play By Play
The referee blows the full-time whistle as Fenerbahce and Roma settle for a point after a 1-1 draw in Turkey. The result's probably a fair one, with both sides enjoying dangerous spells, particularly in the second half. Cristante initially put the visitors ahead on 39 minutes when he drove a right-footed shot beyond Ederson from range. Fenerbahce responded well after the break, though, and drew level in the 48th minute when Greenwood played through Brown, who made no mistake with a cool finish past Svilar. Roma thought they had the chance to retake the lead when they were awarded a penalty in the 68th-minute, only for VAR to quickly intervene and rule Akturkoglu's foul on Dybala actually took place outside the box. Ake also went to close to stealing a late winner for the hosts in the 87th-minute when his header struck the crossbar. Fenerbahce created 1.64 xG to Roma's 0.53, and the home side now look to a trip to Gaziantep on Monday. Meanwhile, Roma prepare to travel to Torino on the same day. That's all for this one, thanks for joining us!
FULL-TIME: FENERBAHCE 1-1 ROMA
The visitors look to pump another ball into the box, but Ederson claims it into his hands. That might have been the last throw of the dice for the visitors...
Roma win another corner down the left, but Rodrigo Mora's cross is headed clear by Lukaku. It's the visitors who are on top right now, but that could soon change...
There will be FOUR minutes of stoppage time. Still time for either side to bag a late winner...
Dybala teases an inviting cross towards Hermoso at the back post, but Skriniar turns it behind. The latter is there again to head away the resulting corner, and Fenerbahce survive...
The second half has been by far more entertaining than the first. Both sides have shown genuine intent in the final third.

Roma make another change as Malen is replaced by De Roon.
OH MY WORD!! FENERBAHCE ARE INCHES AWAY FROM A SECOND!! Mercan takes the resulting free-kick from Cristante's foul on Yuksek, and the former's cross lands perfectly on the head of Ake. He then looks to guide the ball under the crossbar, but instead watches as it rattles the frame of the goal before Roma scramble to clear. So, so close!

Now Cristante is shown a yellow card for a cynical challenge on Yuksek, who was bursting into space in the Roma half.

Fenerbahce's Yuksek goes into the referee's book for a reckless challenge on Dybala in the centre circle. That was always going to end in a card.
There's a nervous moment at the back for Roma as Wesley fails to put enough on his pass back to Svilar, who has to rush out to prevent Muldur from stealing ahead and bagging a second for the hosts. Fortunately for Roma, Svilar remained alert to clear, but that was far too close for comfort...
Now it's Roma who are looking most likely to bag a winner. The momentum has really swung back and forth in the second half.
Balerdi is incredibly lucky to avoid a booking for a late challenge on Brown on the halfway line. That was incredibly reckless by the Roma defender.
Fenerbahce substitute Lukaku has scored four goals in his last six appearances against Roma, including the winner in his last home game against them for Napoli in November 2024. Lukaku's strike turned out to be the winner that night...can Lukaku repeat those heroics here?
DYBALA SHOULD DO BETTER! Cristante finds Dybala on the right-hand side, and he immediately sets his sights on the Fenerbahce box. Dybala does brilliantly, too, as he works his way inside the penalty area before launching a timid left-footed shot at goal. Ederson gathers the ball comfortably moments later, and the danger passes...
The result of this one is impossible to predict at the moment. Both sides look threatening.

Soule also makes way for the visitors and is replaced by Rodrigo Mora.

Roma's Balerdi also comes on for Mancini.

Roma make more changes, with Molina coming on in place of Rensch.
HOW ARE FENERBAHCE NOT AHEAD?! The hosts are so close to going ahead as Greenwood finds Lukaku in the box. The latter then picks out Oguz Aydin, who fails to make proper contact with the ball, which Svilar palms away. It's superb defending from Rensch, who partly blocks and takes the sting out of Oguz Aydin's effort.

Fenerbahce's Akturkoglu is also replaced by Oguz Aydin.

Fenerbahce make another switch as former Roma forward Lukaku replaces Muriqi.
Roma quickly appeal for another penalty as Kante trips Wesley in and around the penalty area. No foul is given, and replays show contact to have taken place just outside the box anyway. Still, things are starting to flare in this one...
