Inter Milan v Club Brugge
Play By Play
A Champions League classic comes to an end at San Siro, as Club Brugge secure one of the biggest results in their entire history with a 4–3 win over three-time European champions Inter!! Level at the break thanks to Tresoldi's penalty and Lautaro Martinez's late equaliser, Inter looked as if the impetus from that goal would spur them on to victory, producing 3.93 xG amid a flurry of chances for Thuram, Akanji, Martinez and Dimarco early on. Another sucker punch was waiting, however, with Forbs latching onto a long ball forwards, stranding Josep Martinez and leaving his net empty for Tresoldi to tap into. At 2–1 the visitors' confidence increased further – they created 4.37 xG in total with Virgili and Potts hitting post and glove respectively – before Forbs' shot was parried straight into Tresoldi's path for the simplest of hat-trick finishes. Inter weren't done yet, however, and made it 3–2 in similar fashion when Sucic's shot was parried before being put in by Lautaro Martinez, but the deficit was again widened just six minutes later when another Forbs throughball was finished with aplomb by Vermant. Stoppage time arrived and so did Inter's last lifeline, with Bonny's individual goal making the score 4–3, but despite a plethora of late chances at both ends, Club Brugge held on to finish on the right side of a bona fide seven-goal thriller. That lifts the Belgian champions up to 18th in the 36-team league phase table, while Inter drop to 28th following a fourth straight Champions League defeat – one in which they produced enough chances to win any other game several times over.
FULL-TIME: INTER 3–4 CLUB BRUGGE.

Bonny becomes sandwiched between Siquet and Lemarechal in a clumsy Club Brugge challenge, with the latter booked late on by the referee.
SAVED!!! Diakhon fancies getting in on the act for Club Brugge, cutting inside Bisseck and blasting a low drive goalwards which is tipped away from danger by Josep Martinez!
SAVED!!! Josep Martinez makes sure Inter stay alive!! Forbs's field day continues as he cuts inside to tee up Vermant on the edge of the box, but the substitute's left-footed finish is clawed around the outside of the bottom-right corner by Martinez!
OVER!! That would have finished things off for Club Brugge!! Seys streaks in behind the hosts' defence and picks out Vermant with a cutback from the left-hand byline, but their latest goalscorer can't get his sliding finish right and sends it over the bar!
Stankovic stamps his authority not long after coming on, and Inter are going to need even more long passing to drag themselves back level late on here.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAALLL!!!! Inter get themselves right back into this game once more!! Quick passing between Sucic, Lautaro Martinez and Stankovic sees the hosts sweep possession from one end of the field to the other. The latter's ball releases Bonny, who gets away from Potts down the left, cuts inside Lee, and sends a lovely finish into the bottom corner which narrows the deficit to 4–3!!
Club Brugge have conceded three or more goals in seven of their last nine Champions League matches – 24 in total – including the last three in a row. Since the start of last season, the Belgian side are the team who have conceded three-plus goals in the most Champions League matches (seven).
We've still got SEVEN additional minutes to play at San Siro, and given the free-scoring nature of this game, don't be surprised if we see another goal or two!

Aleksandar Stankovic was being readied prior to that sucker-punch of a fourth Club Brugge goal, and comes on now for Zielinski in the latter stages as Inter's final throw of the dice.
Inter's defenders will wake up with nightmares about Forbs, who registers his THIRD assist of the game to set up Vermant's clincher!

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLL!!!! That should seal it for Club Brugge!! Spence loses out to Forbs on halfway, and the constant thorn in Inter's side comes up with another peach of a pass in behind. Vermant races onto the throughball as Josep Martinez advances, lifting a lovely shot over the Spaniard to make it 4–2!
SAVED!!! Lautaro Martinez gets across the front of Lee as Bonny blasts a low cross into his feet from the left, but the Argentine's first-time finish is saved and by Sommer at his near post!
SAVED!! Another stop from Sommer!! Inter counter with time running out as Lautaro Martinez tees up Diouf, whose drilled effort from 20 yards is saved and held by the veteran Swiss!
Diakhon drills a teasing ball right across the face of goal, but no-one in white can turn it home until Forbs arrives on the right-hand side. He brings Lemarechal, Potts and Siquet into play, but none can get a shot or cross away as Inter clear their lines.

Virgili is also withdrawn after his recent booking, with Mamadou Diakhon entering the fray as the visitors prepare to batten down the hatches.

It's action stations at the back from here on in for Club Brugge, who bring off their hat-trick hero Tresoldi for Romeo Vermant.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAALLLLL!!!! Don't count Inter out just yet!! Spence releases his fellow substitute Bonny, who cuts inside from the left with a lovely square pass for Sucic. The Croatian's shot from the edge of the box is parried by Sommer, but he can't help but palm the ball into the path of Lautaro Martinez, who pounces to put it in from close range and makes it 3–2 with 10 minutes left!
Club Brugge have only won one of their last nine European away games against Italian sides – beating Atalanta in the 2025 Champions League play-off round – but they're well on course to end that unwanted record here!

Dimarco for Djed Spence is another late change for Cristian Chivu, with the England wing-back set to operate from the left.

Another two changes coming for an Inter side reeling despite controlling large swathes of this game, with striker Ange-Yoan Bonny brought on in place of Barella
Tresoldi's hat-trick makes it four goals so far in the 2026–27 Champions League , the most by any Club Brugge player in a single edition of the competition.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLL!!!! It's a San Siro treble for Tresoldi!!! Following another blown Inter chance at one end, Club Brugge capitalise at the other as Seys surges down the left. His cross is met and fired goalwards by Forbs, who is denied by the leg of Josep Martinez, but Tresoldi reacts quickest to send the rebound into the bottom corner and makes it 3–1!!
SAVED!! Dimarco's low cross from the left is taken brilliantly on the turn by Esposito, who creates space for himself before firing a venomously-struck effort which Sommer somehow beats away!
