It was a memorable day for Brighton, who recorded their joint-biggest away win in the Premier League after a comprehensive 5-0 rout of a hapless Coventry at the CBS Arena. The Seagulls enjoyed just under 70% of the possession and outperformed their 2.69 xG, compared to their opponents' 1.39. Kostoulas broke the deadlock with a very well-taken goal in the 35th minute, while Yalcouye raced away to make it 2-0 six minutes into the second half. Coventry were then reduced to 10 men with Awoniyi shown a straight red card for an elbow on De Cuyper. Gross put the result beyond doubt from the penalty spot with 20 minutes left, slotting home after Thomas fouled Kostoulas. The Seagulls finished with a flourish, too. Dunk took aim from over 25 yards out and hit the jackpot, with his long-range stunner his first goal with his feet since 2023. Ayari then completed the rout deep into stoppage time, sweeping home from the edge of the box to compound another miserable day for the Sky Blues. They remain pointless and rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table. Both sides switch their attention to the EFL Cup in midweek. It's a milestone 50th Premier League assist for Gross, who showed very good awareness to pick out Ayari on the edge of the box.
OOOH IT'S 5-0!!! AYARI GETS IN ON THE ACT! What an away day it's been for Brighton! Gross has the ball on the left wing and feeds it to the edge of the box. Ayari opens his body as he controls, before bending his shot into the far corner, with Rushworth helpless. Brighton have finished with a flourish.
Ayari fires into the stand from distance as we enter six additional minutes at the end of this game. There are some glum faces among the home supporters. Time is on their side at the moment, but as things stand, it looks like it will be a long season for the Sky Blues.
Inspired by Dunk, De Cuyper lets fly from the edge of the box. He's not as successful as his skipper, though, with his attempt flying high and wide of the goal.
Coventry look set to become only the second side to start a Premier League season with four straight defeats without scoring. The other were Crystal Palace in 2017-18, with head coach Frank de Boer ultimately paying with his job.
This is now officially a game between the Premier League's lowest and highest scorers. Coventry are still to break their duck after the opening four games, while Brighton already have 12 to their tally.
Brighton's other change sees Gomez make way to be replaced by Costinha.
Koustoulas is given a well-earned breather by Hurzeler, who introduces O'Riley in his place for the last few minutes.
Coventry make a change in the middle of the park, with Torp replacing skipper Grimes.
Andres teed the ball up for Dunk, but what followed was simply outstanding.

The Seagulls make a couple of changes. Boscagli makes way in the first of them to be replaced by Osman.
Barring the most spectacular of collapses, Brighton are home and dry heading into the final quarter of an hour. Can the Seagulls add to their lead, though?
Rushworth is way out of goal, and plays a sloppy pass intended for Yirenkyi. Andres can see the headlines written when he looks to find the empty net from just inside the Coventry half. His ambitious attempt is wayward, though.
The hosts make another change with Rudoni also withdrawn and replaced by Thomas-Asante.
Onyeka will play no further part in this game, as he makes way to be replaced by Yirenkyi.
Jeers ring around the CBS Arena as Onyeka goes down on the edge of the box under Vuskovic's challenge, only to be told to get to his feet by the referee. The Coventry midfielder's stayed down, though, with replays showing a trailing defender accidentally treading on his hand.
NO PROBLEM FOR GROSS!!! 3-0 BRIGHTON AND, SURELY, GAME OVER! Gross steps up to take the penalty, and he's as cool as you like. The experienced midfielder sweeps the ball low to the left of Rushworth, who doesn't even move.
PENALTY!!! Brighton have the chance to make it 3-0! Thomas is penalised and he has no complaints whatsoever. He's late as he challenges Koustoulas, who was attacking Gomez's cross. There's a resigned look on the face of the Coventry skipper, who doesn't even appeal the decision.
Brighton make a change and Yalcouye, who scored that brilliant second goal, is given a rest, with Andres coming on in his place.
That'll frustrate Coventry and Lampard. Onyeka has space to run into down the left and the chance to send in a decent cross. However, his eventual attempt to do so doesn't even miss the first man.
