This followed an extensive VAR review after Josko Gvardiol's low cross and Enzo Fernandez's desperate attempt to play the ball from an offside position. While City came close later on, and a heated exchange between Harry Maguire and Fernandez added to the yellow card count, the final big moment came in Gianluigi Donnarumma's penalty area in stoppage time. Fernandes coolly played in Bryan Mbeumo, yet City's giant Italian reacted immaculately to tip away and secure a massive three points. After this result, that will no doubt be talked about for years to come, City played just above their 0.99 xG to keep their flawless early-season record and stay tight on Arsenal's trail. United counter after Mbeumo and Semenyo trade fouls. The move culminates with Dalot crossing high from the right. It's just that little bit too far ahead of Dorgu.

After Ndiaye is brought down in his own box to mass frustration, a hopeful roar rises as a minimum of five minutes are added on. Will Old Trafford see another late goal to add to the collection?

After Semenyo wins a foul off Dalot, the resulting free-kick's delay from Gvardiol sees the Croatian booked for time-wasting.
Fernandez continues to be a pantomime villain at Old Trafford, winning the ball back before smartly winning a foul.
CLOSE! Fernandez fires in a low cross, and both Guehi and Haaland can't connect it properly as it's lasered across United's six-yard box!
Mainoo and Fernandez collide now, with the latter tamely diving to the turf holding his face. Free-kick only, due to the body check, but wow, Fernandez goes down like the stray arm is a punch.
NARROWLY WIDE BY MBEUMO! Dalot crosses from the right and the Cameroon international flicks a header agonisingly across the face of Donnarumma's goal!
Maguire nods the left-sided corner back across the crowded area with a drifting Sesko undoubtedly the target. Donnarumma rises highest, though, and catches athletically.
United have been far too passive in this match. Sesko tries to change things from range, but Dias deflects it behind.
