News: 6 days agoWashington caught four of 11 targets for 64 yards in Sunday's 34-31 loss to the Texans.
Spin: Despite leading the Jaguars in targets, Washington finished second to Jakobi Meyers in both catches and receiving yards, and he wasn't on the other end of any of Trevor Lawrence's four TDs. It's the third time in the last four games that Washington has failed to reach five grabs or 70 yards, but the fourth contest featured a 6-124-2 line from the fourth-year wideout. Washington will take a 26-416-4 line on 46 targets into a bye before facing the Colts in Week 8.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: A strong finish to the 2025 season has made Washington one of the fascinating breakout candidates of 2026. Though he's primarily worked as a situational/depth player since being drafted in the sixth round in 2023, Washington has flashed when asked to play a bigger role. In 21 games since the start of 2024 in which he had a route participation above 50%, Washington handled a 20% target share and averaged 12.2 fantasy PPG. He surprisingly emerged as Jacksonville's top target late last season, which included a stretch of four straight games with at least nine targets and 19 fantasy points to end the season. The 24-year-old appears to have cemented a big role in Jacksonville, though Jakobi Meyers, Brian Thomas Jr. and perhaps Travis Hunter will battle him for snaps and targets. Washington should be targeted for your flex spot.
