News: 4 days agoVidal turned seven carries into 21 yards and caught three of four passes for 19 yards during the Chargers' 22-6 loss to the Chiefs on Sunday.
Spin: The Chargers' run offense struggled Sunday, but Vidal was slightly more efficient than Omarion Hampton (18 yards) on the same number of carries. Vidal has seen more rotational offensive snaps over the Chargers' last three games, and over that span he has logged 20 carries for 103 yards and a touchdown and six catches (on nine targets) for 29 yards and a score. His role may continue to expand following the Week 7 bye, with the Chargers' next game taking place in Week 8 against the Rams on Sunday, Nov. 1.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Returning for his third year with the Chargers, Vidal is set to compete with newcomer Keaton Mitchell for change-of-pace touches behind Omarion Hampton. Vidal had some big moments in 2025, clearing 17 fantasy points in four games, but the notable disclaimer here is that Hampton was sidelined for all of those outings. In fact, Vidal scored only 4.1 fantasy PPG in his other nine games. The 2024 sixth-round pick is a fine depth player who showed he can handle big workloads when needed, but he'll be worth rostering only should Hampton miss time and, even then, Mitchell figures to play a role.
