ESPN Fantasy Projection: Benson's pro career is off to a slow start due primarily to a variety of injuries. The 2024 third-round pick was essentially splitting the Arizona backfield with James Conner last season, but he was never able to return to the field after suffering a knee injury in Week 4. He was effective prior to the injury, averaging 5.5 yards per carry, and was busy as a receiver (four-plus targets in three straight games). The 24-year-old will open the 2026 season on injured reserve and, even when healthy, he's no longer assured of a role with a new coaching staff and after the team added Jeremiyah Love and Tyler Allgeier. Benson's best days are likely ahead of him, but his only shot at 2026 fantasy relevance is a new home or several injuries above him on the Arizona depth chart.
