News: 7 hours agoMarks is lined up to start at running back against the Giants on Sunday with David Montgomery (groin) ruled out.
Spin: With Montgomery sidelined this past Sunday against Jacksonville in London, Marks put up a 15-56-0 rushing line while catching two of three targets for 25 yards. That production was very similar to the previous week versus Tennessee, when Marks played the bulk of Houston's offensive snaps due to Montgomery's early exit and posted a 15-62-0 rushing line along with a 4-23-0 receiving line. Montgomery has yet to practice since getting hurt, so it's possible Marks could lead the backfield again Week 8 versus the Chargers, though next week's practice reports will shed more light on that scenario.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Marks, a fourth-round NFL draft pick in 2025, played a substantial role as a rookie, soaking up 220 touches (22nd among RBs), but he struggled with efficiency (his 3.59 yards per carry and 1.61 yards after contact both ranked near the basement) and found the end zone only five times. The result was 9.4 fantasy points per game and one top-10 fantasy outing. Marks appears ticketed for a lesser role in 2026 now that David Montgomery was brought in to serve as the likely leader of a backfield committee. Especially in an offense that doesn't use backs in the passing game very much, Marks is no more than a bench/insurance stash.
