News: 5 days agoShough completed 16 of 30 passes for 144 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 34-27 win over the Giants. He added 32 yards and a TD on five carries.
Spin: While he didn't produce much yardage, Shough kept the Saints' offense humming, connecting with Bryce Lance, Alvin Kamara and Chris Olave for scores through the air while adding a one-yard touchdown on the ground in the third quarter. Shough has been playing through a couple broken bones in his non-throwing hand, which could help explain why he has just 242 passing yards over the last two weeks, but the second-year QB showed he can be plenty productive despite the injury. Shough will take a 12:5 TD:INT through six games into a Week 7 tilt against the Steelers in Paris.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: One of the surprise second-half breakout players of 2025, Shough scored 17-plus fantasy points in seven of his nine full games, including six straight to end the season. The 2025 second-round pick was a solid producer with his arm (250.1 passing yards per game) and his legs (19.3 rushing yards per game and three TDs). Shough didn't show a high ceiling (he never reached 22 fantasy points in a game), though that can be traced to a shaky supporting cast. That's an area that should be better in 2026 with Travis Etienne Jr. and No. 8 overall pick Jordyn Tyson (once healthy) joining the team. He's still unproven, but Shough enters Year 2 (same as coach Kellen Moore) as an intriguing fantasy breakout candidate. He's worth a look in the later rounds.
