News: 5 days agoJohnson failed to reel in either of his targets during Sunday's 34-27 win over the Giants.
Spin: Johnson went without a catch in a regular-season contest for the first time since Week 3 of the 2024 campaign. The tight end had reeled in at least three passes in each of the team's first five games of the year. Over the last two weeks, Johnson has caught four of seven targets for 16 yards, and his next chance to get back on track will come in Week 7 against the Steelers in Paris.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Johnson's impressive progression continued in 2025, as the converted wide receiver posted career-high marks in targets, catches, yardage and fantasy points (all four were eighth or better among tight ends). Johnson produced nine top-12 fantasy weeks, which tied for second at the position. He has finished in the top 12 in aDOT each of the past four seasons but hasn't been much of an option near the goal line (no more than four TDs or end zone targets in each of the past three seasons). The 29-year-old has added target competition, including eighth-overall pick Jordyn Tyson (once healthy), but he very well could settle in as high as third in target priority in the Saints' Tyler Shough-led offense. Johnson is a fine TE2.
