Sanders scores 26, leads Clippers past Wizards

Kobe Sanders scored 26 points and Sean Pedulla notched 16 points and 11 assists to lead the LA Clippers to a 108-94 victory over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday in an NBA summer league contest at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

The Clippers used a dominant third quarter to break open a tight game. Norchad Omier was a force off the bench, securing 11 points and a game-high 15 rebounds in just 19 minutes of action. Second-round draft pick Nick Martinelli had a highly efficient night, scoring 19 points on 8-of-9 shooting, and fellow rookie Baba Miller added 12 points.

For the Wizards, Seth Trimble led the team with 24 points. Chris Livingston posted a strong all-around game with 20 points, nine rebounds and four assists, and Reece Beekman dished out a team-high nine assists to go with his nine points. Kadary Richmond contributed 10 points and four blocks.

After a back-and-forth first half that saw the Clippers take a slim 52-51 lead into the break, LA seized control in the third period. The Clippers outscored the Wizards 30-19 in the quarter, building a lead that would grow to as many as 16 points in the fourth. Washington mounted a comeback attempt in the fourth, but the deficit proved too large to overcome.
