Friday at the PGA Championship turned an already crowded leaderboard into a full-on logjam at the top.

After 36 holes at Aronimink Golf Club, 58 players sit within six shots of the lead -- the most crowded leaderboard through two rounds in tournament history.

Maverick McNealy and Alex Smalley enter Saturday tied atop the leaderboard at 4 under, one shot clear of a group that includes Hideki Matsuyama, Min Woo Lee, Chris Gotterup, Aldrich Potgieter, Stephan Jaeger and Max Greyserman.

Defending champion Scottie Scheffler is lurking close behind. The world No. 1 opened the tournament Thursday with a 3-under 67, part of a seven-way tie for the lead -- the largest first-round tie atop the PGA Championship leaderboard since 1969.

Scheffler followed that up with a 1-over 71 on Friday, dropping him back into a seven-way tie for ninth entering the weekend. Two-time PGA champion Justin Thomas also sits at 2 under.

Friday also delivered one of the tournament's best moments yet when Michael Kim chipped in for eagle on his final shot in his round to make the cut.

Ahead of a weekend featuring 82 players still standing, here are the highlights from Friday's second round.
