The Golden State Valkyries appear to be proving that their highly successful debut season in 2025 was no fluke, and bookmakers are adjusting accordingly. After entering the 2026 campaign with 45-1 championship odds, the Valkyries have shortened all the way to +900, surpassing the Atlanta Dream (13-1) for fourth on the WNBA Finals odds board.

It puts Golden State just behind the perennial title favorite Minnesota Lynx (+160), Las Vegas Aces (+310) and New York Liberty (+450). Minnesota has continued to improve in the odds after succeeding without superstar Napheesa Collier, who could be close to a return, while New York has lengthened somewhat amid a 13-11 record.

Meanwhile, the Phoenix Mercury continue to disappoint and have fallen all the way to 300-1 for the WNBA Finals after coming into the season at 30-1. The Indiana Fever have lengthened to 18-1 after beginning the campaign at +450.
