Oklahoma hits 4 homers in 11-0 rout of Binghamton

The Oklahoma Sooners opened their postseason run with an offensive showcase, defeating the visiting Binghamton Bearcats 11-0 in a five-inning NCAA tournament regionals game Friday at Love's Field in Norman.

The Sooners wasted no time, jumping out to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. The scoring started with an RBI single from Gabbie Garcia, followed by a sacrifice fly from Isabela Emerling. Kasidi Pickering then capped the inning with a two-run home run to center field. Oklahoma added three more runs in the second inning, courtesy of a two-run homer by Kai Minor and a solo shot from Ella Parker, extending the lead to 7-0.

Oklahoma continued to pour it on. In the third, Ailana Agbayani delivered a two-run single to make it 9-0. Kendall Wells provided the final margin in the fourth inning with a two-run home run. Four Sooners hit home runs in the contest. Minor, Pickering and Agbayani each finished with two hits and two RBIs, while Garcia went 2-for-2 with an RBI and Abby Dayton also added two hits.

The Sooners' pitching staff was just as dominant, combining for a two-hit shutout. Audrey Lowry started and pitched two innings, allowing one hit and striking out three. Berkley Zache followed with two innings of one-hit ball, and Allyssa Parker closed the game with a perfect fifth inning as the run rule kicked in, ending the game.

Binghamton struggled to generate any offense against the Oklahoma pitchers. The Bearcats' only hits came from Rachel Carey and Rebecca Minnichbach. Starting pitcher Olivia Kennedy allowed seven earned runs on five hits and three home runs in 1⅓ innings of work. Savanna McHale pitched the final 2⅔ innings, surrendering four runs.
