Former two-time world champion Joe Cordina has agreed terms to fight Manny Pacquiao on the Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua undercard in Cardiff, promoter Eddie Hearn has said.
Cordina, who was born in the Welsh capital, is ready to move on with his career after being cleared of assault charges earlier this week.
On Thursday, Hearn revealed they have agreed Cordina's side of a deal to fight Pacquiao, 47, including the purse, although the fight is not a certainty to happen.
"We've agreed terms to fight Manny Pacquiao, but we don't know if that's happening," Hearn told media. "But from our side, we've agreed to do it."
Cordina (19-1, 9 KOs) is a former two-time junior lightweight champion. He has just the one defeat as a professional; a Round 8 knockout loss to Anthony Cacace in 2024.
He has since moved up to lightweight and had two wins last year.
Cordina was set to fight Abdullah Mason in July but was denied a visa to the United States due to an assault charge. The 34-year-old has since been found not guilty.
A fight against former eight-division champion Pacquiao would be life changing for Cordina, not least because it could also be in his home city on one of the biggest boxing cards of the year.
Pacquiao returned to the ring after a four-year absence in July last year, earning a draw with then WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios.
Pacquiao was meant to rematch Floyd Mayweather Jr. in September, but the fight never materialised.
