Vargas Jr., son of retired ex-champ, arrested on suspicion of DUI

Junior middleweight boxer Fernando Vargas Jr. was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after being involved in a three-vehicle crash, the California Highway Patrol said Friday.

The crash was reported just before 8 p.m. Thursday inside a parking structure at Universal Studios in Hollywood, according to a CHP news release. Upon arrival, police observed "signs of alcohol impairment" from Vargas and conducted a DUI investigation. No injuries were reported at the scene.

Vargas, 29, was taken into custody, and his case will be submitted to the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office for possible charges.
