News: 13 hours agoThe Bears and Swift agreed to a three-year, $33.75 million contract Friday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Spin: As a member of the Bears, Swift went for 1,345 yards from scrimmage and six total TDs in 2024 and 1,386 such yards and 10 touchdowns in 2025, which was enough for the team to commit to him through the 2029 campaign. He'll still have to contend with Kyle Monangai out of the backfield for the foreseeable future, but Swift has proved capable of heavy workloads, having averaged 235 touches per season over the last three years.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Swift is entering his seventh NFL season and third with Chicago. The veteran back was busy as both a rusher and receiver en route to clearing 1,300 scrimmage yards in each of his first two seasons with the Bears. Though he found the end zone 10 times and finished 17th among backs in fantasy points per game last season, Swift deferred substantial work to Kyle Monangai and is likely to be in even more of a timeshare in 2026. Still in his prime at age 27, Swift continues to play at a high level (4.87 yards per carry last season), but his role in the Chicago offense figures to limit him to low-ceiling RB2/flex production.
